The Beacon Behavior Case Coodinator told us this:
I have seen an increase in students' self-esteem upon regular participation in social groups. Not only do social groups provide a safe, understanding environment for children to interact with others, it also allows for children to grow and learn about themselves. Social skills are the building blocks upon which we as individuals relate to one another, creating relationships that can last a lifetime. All children deserve a place where they have such an opportunity.

Social skills can help your child . . .

  • Develop meaningful friendships
  • Increase confidence and self-esteem
  • Become a contributing member of the community and your family
  • Avoid negative social interactions, such as bullying
  • Successfully navigate through their social world
  • Enhance meaningful and fluid communication
  • Increase successful play interactions

Groups & Pricing

Each social skills training program will be held for a period of 10 weeks. The times that the social skills groups will take place will be on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:00-5:00 pm.

Please contact Ashley Robert for pricing and to check for insurance eligibility and grant opportunities.

Parent Lisa H. shared this with us:
The best thing that social skills sessions have done for my son has been to help him with more appropriate conversation and how to approach people. This made him feel more confident, and it made me feel more comfortable about him being around his peers.

TRACKING PROGRESS: In addition to written reports, enrollees in the program will be videotaped (with parental consent) so that parents can see and be encouraged by their children's progress and have the opportunity to ask questions and offer input.
